Nevada is a great place to enjoy many different types of gaming, shopping, and sightseeing. It also is an outdoor playground with over 131 golf courses, hundreds of miles of hiking trails, and many rivers and lakes. Nicknamed " The Silver State" for the silver deposits found in the state in the mining era, this state is mostly known for it's dry, hot desert and summer heat extremes. While the state is home to desert terrains, it is also home to snow-capped mountains, valleys, lakes, rivers, and forests. Temperatures range from excessively hot during desert summers to snow in winter, and everything in between. Zen Getaways offers vacation home rentals statewide that are available year-round. Let us find you your perfect vacation destination in the exciting state of Nevada.
Las Vegas is the biggest draw that Nevada has to offer, and for good reason. Located only four hours from Los Angeles by car or one hour by plane, it is one of America's top vacation spots. Nevada is one of the few places to offer 24-hour entertainment, dance clubs, adult clubs, dining, and thanks to very liberal alcohol laws bars have no "last call". It has been nicknamed "Sin City" thanks to the racy nature of the city, the huge gaming industry, and the "What Happens Here Stays Here" motto. Recently however, Las Vegas has increased its family-friendly attractions and activities. It remains an adult playground, and at the same time offers the same attractiveness to families and children looking for an unforgettable vacation. The Strip: Las Vegas is most known for the row of casinos on Las Vegas Blvd, widely known as "The Strip". This area encompasses over four miles of grand scale casinos and 24-hour entertainment. We offer a large number of places to stay directly on Las Vegas Blvd including high-rise condos, luxury hotel suites and more for those that want to stay directly in the midst of the excitement. Lined side by side down The Strip, you will find many varieties of 24 hour gaming including table games like Poker, Roulette, Craps, and Blackjack; as well as slot machines in every theme, shape, and size. Casinos are quick to offer "comps" for players who spend time and money in their casinos, such as free buffet passes, gifts, and more. The casinos lining Las Vegas Blvd also house theaters with lavish shows like the many Cirque Du Soleil venues, world-famous dining such as Fleur de Lys and Spago, and celebrity packed clubs including Tao, LAX, and Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce. A couple of blocks from The Strip is the celebrity favorite the Palms Casino. There you can find the famous Playboy Club, Ghostbar, the Pearl concert venue, and of course a stream of constant celebrity guests. The Strip is also a favorite location for serious shoppers and bargain shoppers alike. A plethora of shops and malls are located directly on Las Vegas Blvd including the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, the Fashion Show Mall, Mandalay Place, the Miracle Mile Shops at the Palazzo, and much more. There are also multiple clubs that line The Strip that are open until the early morning. For those traveling with children, there are also many attractions and free events to see that cater towards families. Located directly on Las Vegas Blvd you will find attractions like the Adventuredome at Circus Circus, Madame Tussauds wax musem, the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, and the MGM Grand's Lion Habitat. Of course there are many many more activities and sites to see on The Strip, but you'll just have to come and see them for yourself! Let us be your guide to show you Las Vegas like no one else can. Downtown Las Vegas:
Downtown Las Vegas began as a tourist attraction in 1931 when the first gaming license was issued to the Northern Club on Fremont Street. The name of Fremont came from an American explorer who had come across the once lush valley of Las Vegas, hence the translation as "the meadows." Soon after, other casinos were built, and downtown Las Vegas soon adopted the name of the "Glitter Gulch". Downtown Las Vegas was a very important part of the history of Las Vegas. The first phone in Las Vegas was installed in front of the first Las Vegas hotel, the Golden Gate Hotel in 1907. The first traffic light was also located here, as well as the first elevator, which was at the Apache Hotel. The first Las Vegas high-rise was also built in 1956, the Fremont Hotel. In 1995 another groundbreaking Las Vegas first was introduced, the Fremont Street Experience. It is a 90-foot high barrel canopy display of lights and sound that is over 1,500 feet in length. Multiple nightly shows flash and dance on the screen above, while music from the likes of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra and more, synchronize with the brilliant display. The Fremont Street Experience is situated between 5 casinos, with shopping, dining, and a laid-back party atmosphere. Often it is the location of big name performers with free concerts. You can also visit Neonopolis, a 250,000 square foot entertainment and shopping plaza. It features theaters, dining, bars, and shopping. The famous restaurant/entertainment venue Jillian's is located there, which hosts many Indie performers regularly. Downtown Las Vegas captures the essence of vintage Las Vegas with an updated twist. Come and see why Downtown Las Vegas remains a top destination in Nevada year after year. Lake Las Vegas:
